astrid usong

Julia Au, RethinkWaste

Julie - that photo was of a bottle full of liquid. no bottles or jars with liquid go into the recycling, make sure it's empty
Scott Patton

Jennifer Russell Sion
44:27
Mattresses and box springs can be recycled for free, fyi
Joanna Rosales, RethinkWaste
46:01
@iPhoneAW Yes, if there's crumbs or food remnants on foil, just crumple it in a ball, food side in, so it doesn't dirty the rest of your recycling!
Jill Wentzell (she/her)
47:53
Can we recycle that flimsy plastic at the grocery store with our recycling bags? Or at Stanford?
Joanna Rosales, RethinkWaste
47:58
@Kevin Yes, compostable utensils are being composted at our facility but they have to be stamped with the BPI Certified Compostable certification. If they said things like "Biodegradable" or "Made from plants", that won't get composted.
Joanna Rosales, RethinkWaste
49:23
@Michelle, yes pet waste goes into the landfill
