How often has it happened for you that an item has been deleted in Wikidata?
Magnus Sälgö
36:28
I added a question in a Wikidata Telegram group if we can support getting delete requests
Steve Baskauf

Thanks, I’m going to mention the Zenodo option the next time I talk about ORCID!
Alexandra Alisa Provo (she/her)

I’d be interested in hearing more of your thoughts on privacy of peoples’ personal information and Wikidata (I think you mentioned that you use ORCID for living people for this reason?)
Steve Baskauf
53:24
Just to note, Darwin Core has an analog of dwc:recordedBy that is intended to be used with IRIs: dwciri:recordedBy . If museum curators started publishing with that instead of just strings, the connection would be born with the newly created records.
Alexandra Alisa Provo (she/her)
56:06
Have the mass data dumps of ORCIDs into Wikidata caused issues for your project?
Jeannette Ho
56:10
What if this type of information (employer, date started) is already publicly available online for living people? Do you still need their permission to include in Wikidata?
Ivan E Calimano
56:54
people volunteer this information, and leave what they want. No body is forcing them nonetheless, institutions does encourage their researchers to do this? From what I know, this is "volunteer" information
Alexandra Alisa Provo (she/her)
57:47
@Jeannette, I think sharing on a website is a different context than Wikidata, which might filter out to lots of other environments.
Polutta, Melanie

Who is inputting info in Wikidata for the deceased? That source is unclear to me.
Crystal E. Clements

Could be input from death index?
