I like the emphasis on "feeling"- until a faculty member or a student feels the value of reflection, then it is less meaningful-- and I think that Gerds point of it continuing and being done regularly is also essentail.

The issue of institutional captial-- recognition in tenure or other insittutional processes as this type of work being valuable is really problemmatic. There is a lot of this issue around the development and use of OER as well.

What we can see, learn and understand from portfolios artefacts and evidence and the data inside these needs to be evaluated through research including learning analytics to shift practice further.
