Climate change is a health risk multiplier, disproportionately impacting communities made vulnerable by racism and poverty. Come learn from leaders in the field how communities are preparing and what role health professionals can play in effective partnership.

Featured speakers include Ms. Margaret Gordon, community activist and founding member of the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project (WOEIP) and Dr. Gaurab Basu, Co-Director of the Center for Health Equity Education and Advocacy at Cambridge Health Alliance Instructor, Harvard Medical School.

Margaret Gordon
Margaret Gordon is a lifetime community activist. Ms. Gordon is a founding member of the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project (WOEIP), having volunteered for the first three years of operation. She currently serves as WOEIP’s co-director. She has work experience in mental health services, parent training in the public schools and community organizing.
Dr. Gaurab Basu
Dr. Gaurab Basu, MD, MPH is a physician and founding co-director of the CHA Center for Health Equity Education and Advocacy and an instructor at Harvard Medical School. In 2021 he was named to the 2021 Grist 50 list of climate leaders.
