This is the first of a “virtual” speaker series we are organizing as Stanford Club of Greece titled “Deconstructing Covid-19, Re-Constructing the Economy”. The event will take place on May 27th at 19:00-20:00 through Zoom.
Our first guest will be Dr. Kevin Schulman Professor of Medicine, Associate Chair of Business Development and Strategy in the Department of Medicine, Director of Industry Partnerships and Education for the Clinical Excellence Research Center (CERC) at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and, by courtesy, Professor of Economics at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Dr. Schulman’s research interests include organizational innovation in health care, health care policy and health economics. With over 300 original articles, 80 review articles/commentaries, and 40 case studies/book chapters, Kevin Schulman has had a broad impact on health policy. His peer-reviewed articles have appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and Annals of Internal Medicine.
A few words from Dr. Schulman on the topic of his presentation: “The initial response to the COVID-19 crisis was implementation of policies mandating social distancing. The economic consequence of these policies has been severe. Across countries, we are now trying to understand how we can re-open economies while balancing public safety. At Stanford, we’re working to address these issues by building a working collaboration between faculty from the GSB, the School of Engineering and the School of Medicine. This presentation will highlight the framework that been developed through these discussions, and provide some early results of our analysis.”
Our goal is to hold a 1 hour Zoom session with Dr. Schulman as the speaker with the opportunity towards the end for the audience to ask written questions.
